Let's create an eye: A slow stitch project.
This is a fun and very relaxing project, sit, chat, learn new ideas and techniques, experiment and complete a masterpiece all in one day.
Take a photo of your eye (or both eyes) with your phone, or get someone else to do it.
Then again you can use an image from the internet.
Print it out a little bigger than the normal size of your eye, I printed the actual eye about 2” long.
Create a colour copy or have a copy on your phone or iPad.
Velum or tracing paper, just enough to cover the eye image.
Fabric, for the background I used a piece of vintage table cloth, around 10” X 12”. I love to re-purpose fabrics.
A fat quarter of cotton batting.
For the back of the quilt I used a piece of an old embroidered table runner.
I will bring some cheesecloth to class for you to use.
A small embroidery hoop.
A hand sewing needle.
Black, white, flesh colour and mid grey embroidery threads along with threads that match the colour of your eye.
Paint brush - I will have in class
Container for water - I will have in class
Inktense pencils - I will have in class.
Portable light box if you have one.
